Ingredients
Brownie layer:
1/2 cup butter at room temperature 4 oz chocolate 2/3 cup brown sugar 2 eggs 60 mL milk 1 cup all-purpose flour Cream Cheese layer:
500g cream cheese at room temperature 1/2 cup sugar 3 eggs 10 mL vanilla extract 1/2 cup greek yogurt or sour cream Instructions
Preheat the oven at 350 degrees. Melt chocolate and butter in a bain-marie over low heat, stirring frequently, until smooth. Remove from heat, add brown sugar. Mix until smooth. Let cool for five minutes. Mix in eggs and milk. Stir in flour and mix until just blended. Spread the mixture into a 9 inch springform pan. Bake for 25 minutes. Remove from the oven while preparing the cheesecake layer. Reduce oven temperature to 325 degrees. Beat in cream cheese and sugar with a mixer in a large mixing bowl. Add eggs and mix until just blended. Add vanilla extract and greek yogurt. Mix until just blended. Spread cream cheese mixture on top of the brownie crust. Bake in the oven for 50 to 55 minutes or until the centre is almost set. Remove from the oven and let cool at room temperature for one hour. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours. Sprinkle with chocolate shavings on top before serving. Makes 12 portions
