Is there a way to make a refrigerator icemaker launch ice cubes? See text. AskReddit

I had a babysitter in the early 90's who would do something to my refrigerator icemaker that made it launch ice cubes up to around 20 feet. I cannot figure out how he made it happen or whether he was just playing a joke on a 7 year old.
