I have a project in my thermo class that requires me to calculate the Beta and Beta_Max of my own fridge.
It seems simple enough but the professor keeps saying this will be the hardest thing you ever do.
All I need to do is find the heat transfer Q_C and the work in (Just the power it uses correct?).
Beta = Q_c/ W_in
Beta max is just the T_c = temperature of the cold environment and T_h= temperature of the hot environment.
Beta_max = T_c/ (T_h - T_c)
My questions are:
- Where can I start on finding Q_c?
- T_c would be my temperature of my freezer or refrigerator and T_h is the ambient room temperature?
