The last time I brewed was October 2013. Since then a lot has been going on in my life, including getting out of my apartment and into a house, so I never really had the time. I changed that on Sunday.
Made a Weizenbock based on a recipe from my LHBS (PDF link). Extract and steeping grains, Hallertau hops, WLP300 yeast. Did the boil indoors on my new gas stove - managed to scorch the countertop. Guess I'll go back to my propane burner next time. And I only spilled a little bit of wort on the floor! It's still a little sticky though.
This is my first brew with proper temperature control, so I'm excited to see how it comes out. I have an STC-1000 hooked up to a spare refrigerator - cooling only, no heat. I pitched at 70F and kept it there until fermentation had noticeably started (about 10 hours), knocked it down to 65 for the next day to make sure it didn't get too warm, then put it back up to 68. And that's where it's at now.
Sorry I don't have pics, but I replaced my phone on Monday. Just wanted to share since I'm excited to have something in the pipeline again.
