I started smoking weed in the summer. I'm 23.
When I got to school, I told myself I wouldn't smoke in the dorms.
I wanted a cool roommate. So when they asked if I was okay with smoking, I said yes.
When I meet my roommate he is drinking a bottle of wine. He brought his refrigerator so he hid it in there. We got along. He was cool.
Then two days later he brings over a friend and they want to smoke weed out of a gravity bong. I was really nervous, scared, and freaking out. I would let down my whole family if I were to get kicked out of school for smoking weed in my dorm room. I just caved in and said sure, yeah, you can smoke...and I joined in too.
It was a nasty gravity bong. What we did was burn a hole in the cap and stuff a bolt into it. Then put the weed in the bolt. Giant coke bottle.
Eventually, my roommate and I were smoking everyday in our dorm. He brought another friend and they would always try to finesse some roaches. It was three of us, smoking every damn day.
Then my roommate decided to become a drug dealer. He was selling a lot of weed to kids all over campus. He was getting very popular. He sold to me all the time. He was dealing in ounces. Big bags of weed.
How we got away with it is we used a fan. We had a fan blowing 24/7 out the window. We also had sprays and scents. We even covered the smoke detector with a plastic bag. The smoke detector was at the corner of the room on the wall, not on the ceiling. So we just used a plastic coat hanger and a plastic bag.
I was scared and nervous all the time of getting caught. I didn't want to report him since he was my friend. He was also really big and tall. I was peer pressured into being a pot smoker in the dorms. It was very risky. I know what I did was stupid and I probably shouldn't have done it.
We also have two doors. One door leads to the common area, and the second door leads to our room.
One day, we had a giant smoke session. It seemed to be like 8 blunts and 7 people. 7 people in my room all smoking. The room got very cloudy and I was sure we were going to get busted. Eventually everyone left the room, I think I went to class. My roommate later then tells me a cop came. Our CA smelled smoke and reported it, the officer came into the common area. Found only pieces of ash. But we weren't home so he couldn't come in.
The was our biggest and closest call. My roommate then said no more big smoke sessions, only 3 people now.
So this went on all semester. Him borrowing my car to do drug deals. Him weighing weed in front of me and selling to random kids on campus.
I got used to it. I just accepted it. I was doing a YOLO. And it was a ton of fun. I had so much fun. So fucking stupid and fun.
Eventually the semester ended. A week after winter break started I get an email saying that we left the smoke detector covered. And that we would both be charged unless one of us took responsibility. He was the last one to leave so he did and said that he burnt some food and covered the detector.
This is my final semester before I graduate. I was terrified of going through all of this again and smoking and risking getting kicked out of school. But when I enter the room, I find all of his stuff to be gone. Last I heard he said he was going to be a rapper. I then texted him and he said he wasn't coming back and was going through a bunch of shit and was going to join the army. He just turned 20.
So now, I'm alone in this big room. I wanted to smoke so badly. But I'd rather not risk getting kicked out. Now that he is gone, I can live peacefully. I'm drinking beer right now, but that isn't risky at all. Besides, it's legal lol
