"But we're gonna hit the pause button on that shit for a little while"

November 1st, 2013

It's been over a year and a half since Secret of Mana was put on "pause." And hardly any mention of it whatsoever.

It's been said that it's one of Dan's favorite games of all time. And it's been stopped abruptly, never to be revisited or stated why it's been abandoned.

And then I saw this in Bloodborne Part 57 - Gummy Goodness

http://ift.tt/1C4CYhC

OH WHAT'S THAT

ON THAT FRIDGE THERE

WHAT ARE THOSE TWO FAMILIAR SPRITES

http://ift.tt/1GSGzfp

That's right.

Dan loves Secret of Mana. Enough to have two of the three main characters put on the refrigerator of the Grump kitchen. (no love for vagoo?)

Yet no mention of why it was abandoned. It had the potential to be one of the greatest series, yet it was thrown away.

This is an outrage. Either tell us why it was stopped or continue the series, Grumps.

We're waiting.

How The Grumps (Could Save) Christmas gamegrumps

Hey, all! I'll be honest, I don't know how often the Grumps check this subreddit, but I thought it was worth putting this out there. I sent this same thing to the business address given on the YT account, but I frankly don't know how much that's monitored either. Anyway.

Dear Grumps, I have a favor to ask you…and it requires some explaining.

If I were to say I was your biggest fan, I'd have to be lying. Not because my passion for Game Grumps doesn't blaze brighter than the Sun, but because I know someone whose love for what you do could not possibly be outshone: my girlfriend, Sam. She got me into Game Grumps in the first place. Her Tumblr title is the "Danny Sexbang Appreciation Blog." If Danny were close enough to Ecuador, she'd probably be trying to jump inside his jumpsuit. She loves your channel about as much as it's possible to innocuously do, and I think that's rad as hell. This past August, Sam left the States to volunteer in Ecuador for 8 months. She lives in a village called Imbambura, sans running water or a refrigerator, and teaches English to elementary students. Let’s be clear: we're talking rural-ass Ecuador. Diagram I made for edification.

She only has access to the Internet on a more-or-less weekly basis, and in trashy internet cafés at that. Connections are slow, so things like Youtube are spotty at best. It’s effectively impossible for her to watch Game Grumps online, let alone do much else on the Internet. This is a national tragedy. But! Two months ago I hit upon a solution to this Game Grumps drought. She still has a light laptop, so every month I send her an SD card (like for a DSLR), in an envelope, with my letter, in the mail, filled to the brim with Internet. I call them digital care packages. Music. Movies. Art. Cool and freaky Wikipedia articles. And as the centerpiece… Lots and lots and lots of Game Grumps.

So here's the thing. Having checked the list of games you’ve been sent, and having searched the channel, it looks like you've neither received nor put up gameplay of Portal before! (Fact: Portal is Sam’s favorite game in the whole damn world.) Furthermore, my next digital care package goes out in roughly 3 ½ weeks. It takes about 10 days for the envelope to wend its way to Sam, so she’ll hopefully get it in time for Christmas.

And so here is where I have to ask you a favor. I just ordered a copy of the Orange Box for Xbox, to be delivered to you. When it arrives…would you be willing to do a Portal one-off dedicated to Sam? To be put in an envelope, into a mailbox, loaded on a truck, put on an airplane, flown to Ecuador, and delivered to the Ecuadorian mountainside on which your biggest fan lives? As a tiny, Grumps-themed Christmas miracle? To make her goddamn life? And thus, by extension, mine?

Give it some thought. Thanks. TheWalrus469
