I recently purchased a refrigerator with water/ice. When I pulled the old fridge out, I noticed there was a shutoff valve. Only after I purchased the standard 1/4" FIP x 1/4" FIP did I realize the shutoff had 3/8" compression threads. Is there a braided steel hose with this combination of threads? I went to Lowes and couldn't find one. I realize it's an uncommon combination, so I figured I'd buy a 30" 3/8" female compression x 1/2" FIP, at 1/2" FIP closed nipple, and another braided hose that's 1/2" FIP x 1/2" FIP. I then planned to install a 1/2" MPT x 1/4" FIP bushing to attach to the fridge. This was the simplest combination of parts I could devise, but they were out of the bushing. I would rather not work additional fittings in. Anyone know of a simpler fix? I would rather use braided steel than compression fittings or hose barbs, as I used to work at a home improvement store and heard stories quite often about people's ice maker connection leaking and flooding their kitchen. Thanks!
