Wiring and electricity? vandwellers

As someone who wants to make her own campervan, the thing that really scares me is the electric. I would want to have solar panels installed on the top, with ideally 1 or 2 batteries and touching the electrics really scares me. What are the risk of doing it myself and is there a good book that I could learn how to do it?

Considering I probably want ~3 light circuits, a 12v refrigerator, at least 2 usb plugs (phone + tablet, but I'd prefer having 4 just to be sure) and at least 2 standard plugs (laptop + any other appliances such as a tool, external hard drive, etc.).

Should I simply call an electrician? Will they know how to wire a van? Will they even do it?

What's my best course of action considering I really know nothing about wiring and electricity and I don't want to electrocute myself too. I also don't want to risk a fire starting if I do it badly.

Also, how should I consider wiring the panels to the inside without compromising the exterior? What did people do? Did you just seal the hole where the cables go through?

I can't read diagrams at all too, so that doesn't help me even though I saw a few diagrams that looked nice.

Thanks!
