Hello,
I've been talking to me girlfriend for 2 years and dating her for a 1 & 1/2 years, I met her son and have been apart of his life since he was 2 years old, now he's 4 and a lot more energetic, he's a good kid don't get me wrong, but he is getting bad when it comes to listening to adults, he would much rather challenge you instead of being respectful, he has absolutely no fear of consequences for when he is bad, which really gets under my skin, his mother ONLY disciplines him when he gets on her nerves enough to when she feels enough is enough.
He goes in and out of the refrigerator whenever he wants to, he screams to the top of his lungs when he's told no or to stop, he stays up as long as he wants to on weekdays making all kinds of noise in the house, playing with tablets/iPads with the volume turned all the way up and Netflix on his TV in his room at 3 am. When I step in and make him stop all of this nonsense I'm not backed up by his mother 100%, and I'm just really frustrated. Being in the shoes of a step parent is levels more difficult then being the actual parent, especially when not being backed up, or have rules and conduct established within the household....
