Samsung side by side - RS267TDRS
2 Months ago, a fan started making a lot of noise. The fridge was still cold, so we left it be, and eventually the noise stopped, and we left it alone some more.
Then, the other day, the fridge was at 50F. The freezer was still at 0. I unplugged it and let it defrost, doors open for 24 hours. When I plugged it back in, I got 22E on the screen - fridge fan error - which is what I figured. When I reset the error and let it run, the freezer went down to -3F and the fridge to 57F.
After defrosting again, I took off the panel in the fridge with the fan in it. It can turn freely, so I'm pretty sure it's the fan motor. With a multimeter, I confirmed that there's no open across the wires going to and from the motor. However, I'm unable to confirm that the wires coming out of the back of the fridge have a voltage for a few reasons.
I'm hoping to get a second opinion from someone before I go ahead and purchase a new evaporator fan motor.
Any and all help is appreciated!
