i have a GE side by side fridge/freezer ... i believe it's the evaporator fan / motor that is making an on and off again whining sound. like it's straining ... other than the noise it seems like it's working ok. it's been doing this for a long time and it drives me nuts. i know this seems overly obvious, but should i just replace the evaporator fan/motor unit? or is there more to it than that?
