Day 5 of keto and I just ate one of these, http://ift.tt/1MMNfQn blindly going off by the low carb content. It was really, REALLY good. I felt sinful just eating it, so I Googled (which is what I should have done first) some more on this product, and saw that it contains partially hydrogenated palm oil, which is apparently bad. Am I totally screwed? I still had exactly 20g (net) carbs today, and 62% of my caloric intake was from fats. Could I have some thoughts on this? Is there any general statement one can make about Skinny Cow products? What should I look for besides just carb count in the ingredients to make sure that what I'm eating is keto-friendly?
The only thing I'm really missing so far on keto are sweets. I was a huge fan of cookies, candy (particularly gummy-ish ones like Swedish Fish, Sour Patch Kids, Sour Skittles), ice cream... Does anyone have recommendations for alternatives that I could eat on a regular basis (not daily, perhaps, but let's say 4~5 days a week)?
I have also found it especially difficult to adhere to the diet since I don't have a kitchen, even though I've already read some advice on this. I have a microwave and a refrigerator though, and utensils. I do happen to be grocery shopping tomorrow [Target and/or Giant Eagle], so if anyone has any additional tips on what I should look for, I'd be very grateful. There are also a lot of fast food joints around here that I'm willing to go to (Chipotle, McDonalds, Five Guys, Panera), but I don't know what to order besides bunless bacon cheeseburgers at Five Guys.
It has been a strugglebus these last five days since I've never macro'd everything I eat before I decided to go through with keto, and I feel like a nitpicky maniac. It is already creating rifts between my friends and I, but I have long-term goals I want to meet, and tons of useful/uplifting content to read from this subreddit, which makes me feel awesome. Thanks everyone!
