Eli5: why does hot water steam when I bring it into a cold room? explainlikeimfive

I brought a warm mop bucket into the walk in refrigerator at work. I'd think the water wouldn't steam, but do the opposite... I'm also a chemistry student so I tried to think it out in my head, but I'm not as advanced as I hoped I would be by now
