Several months ago I was given a buprenophine prescription for my cat. The pharmacist told me to keep it in the refrigerator and it was also on the packaging.
Last week, my cat had dental surgery and was given buprenorphine directly from the vet's office. I was told this did not need to be refrigerated.
Does it matter if buprenorphine is refrigerated? Not really an important question - it just seemed strange to get different directions.
