This may be controversial. I keep wine and beer on hand in the refrigerator for guests. stopdrinking

My wife and I quit drinking together using Allen Carr's method, which encouraged us to think of alcohol as equivalent in most important aspects to heroin, cocaine, and other dangerous, addictive drugs that trick addicts into falling for a trap: a pitcher-plant spiral of death and devastation.

Allen Carr's approach is so effective in that it has enabled us to sort of undo the brainwashing that our society puts out there (starting when I was a small child) that alcohol is not only legal and safe for most people, but also enjoyable, and provides a positive, great-tasting, stress-reducing, pleasurable outlet for us weak and over-stressed sufferers of the modern life.

Instead, we now see alcohol for what it really is: a devastating addictive poison that over time traps users into a prison they can't always get out of.

So we have no problem having some wine and beer around the house for our dinner guests, who come over to eat and drink and share the joy of life with us over a fine meal, but who haven't yet been freed from society's erroneous thinking about alcohol.

Just now, the thought occured to me: hey, you could have a drink this aternoon, and no one would have to know. Then I thought, "Sure, and you could also open up a bottle of chlorine bleach and mix a small amount with your orange juice." and the thought fluttered out of my head along with other stupid ideas my brain sometimes comes up with.

Here's lifting a cup of tea to freedom from poison!
