Renovating a 2nd floor kitchen/dining room and would like to have an engineered hardwood installed. Over about 250sqft, there's two 9 sqft sections that are not level, under the refrigerator, and in front of the sink where it dips about 3/16" between the joists (http://ift.tt/2ry2b2X).
Cabinets and countertops will be removed before the floor goes in. I'm wondering what steps I should expect the contractor to make to the subfloor before laying the engineered hardwood.
