By 18, everyone knows how to walk into a store and buy something. But, unless you're taught, you won't necessarily know how minimize your weekly grocery bill, or get the best price on a refrigerator. Over the years, I've found tricks to help minimize the money I hand over to stores, while not really changing what I buy. For example, I make my grocery list at home, but I can usually save 10% or more off those items bill by nesting savings from a Red Card, the CartWheel App, and in store sales. While shopping for large items like appliances or sporting equipment, if I'm patient, I can generally save 25% to 40% off the “true” retail price.
Is this something people would like to discuss? I have several ideas and can write them down. I'm sure others do to. But, this might not be the correct forum. Thoughts?
